Catapult expands its suit of services with WHOA expertise

Catapult partner Boudewijn Wellink recently completed the post-graduate specialisation course to become a WHOA Restructuring Expert at the Leiden Law School of Leiden University. He obtained a diploma and can be appointed by the court  as restructuring expert in WHOA procedures or prepare companies for a financial restructuring using the WHOA route.

On January 1st, 2021, the Dutch Scheme (the Dutch Act on Court Confirmation of Extrajudicial Restructuring Plans, also known by its Dutch acronym “WHOA”) became law in the Netherlands. The enactment of the Scheme is an important event in the development of the Dutch restructuring practice and enables The Netherlands to become a jurisdiction for an efficient implementation of restructurings of both domestic and International companies.

As turnaround and restructuring specialist, Catapult is pleased to be able to support companies in financial distress with this additional restructuring tool going forward, which may prevent a company from going bankrupt or help it wind down in a controlled fashion.
